The Manager of Clinical Operations supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnel while promoting and addressing callers’ needs and health concerns by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the Telehealth Service line; directing and developing staff; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs; providing psychological support for patients, friends, and families.  Managing Telehealth Service Nurses and Agents toward meeting contractual service obligations.  Supervisor will maintain service line compliance with regulatory and professional standards, identifying staff development and training needs, and serves as a liaison between staff and other areas within the organization.

The Manager provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).  Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities. Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Must have broad nursing background and high degree of professionalism with sound nursing judgement
  • Must have excellent critical thinking skills, solid attention to detail and the ability to problem solve effectively
  • Must have the ability to exercise independent nursing judgment and to work within established procedures and guidelines within the team environment
  • Must have ability to meet deadlines with a variety of responsibilities.  Prioritizing work tasks and services and completing tasks in a timely manner
  • Serves as a clinical resource and professional role model for other nursing staff.  Assuring appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and continued professional development of team
  • Assist in electronic medical chart reviews as well as other systems compiling data for audits and reports
  • Assist in providing client education regarding disease processes, therapies and healthful behaviors
  • Ability to manage conflict and increase client satisfaction whenever possible through timely response to calls
  • Analyze past call volume, interval arrival patterns and staffing patterns and provide monthly and other long-range forecasts consisting of required staffing levels to ensure service goals are met
  • Will conduct concurrent and retrospective quality assurance reviews for continued performance opportunities for the team
  • Works flexible schedule to allow assessment and supervision of after-hours triage staff (evenings and weekends). In addition, may participate in identified management meetings held during normal business hours

Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • A current unrestricted RN license
  • 3+ years of nursing experience in direct patient care, preferably in a hospital setting
  • 2+ years of experience leading others in a nursing environment as a team lead, supervisor or manager, preferably in multiple healthcare settings
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of standard office applications 
  • Proven solid team building skills

Preferred Qualification:

  • Telehealth experience and/or Complex Care Management experience
