Role Description

This is a remote contract role for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for the following states of needed coverage –

  • Arizona
  • New Mexico
  • Nevada

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing mental health care services, including psychiatric care, to patients in substance use and rehabilitation facilities. The role requires assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients’ mental health conditions, performing psychiatric evaluations and medication management. Regular communication with clinical staff and interdisciplinary collaboration with other healthcare providers would be necessary.

Qualifications

  • Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner preferably with substance use and rehabilitation experience (2+ years minimum)
  • Adult psychiatry experience preferred – child and adolescent psychiatry experience a plus
  • Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions, co-occurring illnesses
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment knowledge – comfortable with MAT treatment including Buprenorphine prescribing
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with an interdisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical considerations in psychiatric care
  • Comfortable with use of electronic medical records
  • Technology and Telehealth experience a must
  • Master’s degree in Mental Health Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing
  • Licensed as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the respective state board of nursing
  • Contract work, hours dependent on availability
