A Day In the Life

The Medical Specialist/Legal Nurse Consultant (Junior Medical Specialist) is a Registered Nurse responsible for supporting the subject matter experts in reviewing and summarizing medical records and other medical materials. The nurse may also assist with the performing of Independent Medical Exams (IME), preparation of deposition questions, research of medical literature, and medical record data management.

 

This position can work in our Little Rock Office, hybrid or remote as needed. The nurse may be asked to assist in the occupational health program, providing direct care to employees in the company’s clinic or at the worksite. The nurse may be asked if they are available for travel with reasonable notice and may support emergency response, safety, and/or industrial hygiene projects in a variety of roles. The nurse will report to our Legal Nurse Consultant Coordinator.

 

The hourly range for this role is $40 to $45, commensurate with accomplishments, performance, credentials and geography.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities include reviewing and summarizing medical records and other medical materials,
  • Preparation of medical related deposition questions,
  • Assisting with medical literature review,
  • Assisting with the performance of Independent Medical Exams (IME),
  • Medical record data management,
  • Collaborates closely with senior nurses, implementing changes and performing necessary tasks,
  • This position involves comprehensive and continuous on-the-job education and training to develop expertise,
  • They should have good communication skills and be able to maintain on-going positive relationships with clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in Arkansas in good standing with the Arkansas Board of Nurses
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution
  • Must not have a disciplinary hold or ongoing investigation on their nursing license in any state
  • BLS Certified
  • Complete training programs directed by human resources and as company needs dictate to better serve our company and clients
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Legal Nurse Consultant Certification (LNCC) is preferred, but not required
  • Current driver’s license
  • Strong analytical decision-making skills necessary
  • Be able to communicate effectively 1:1 with clients
  • Experience with electronic medical records
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Seek out training and growth opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good organizational skills and planning skills
