We deliver timely, scalable, and evidence-based care in psychiatry and addiction medicine through innovative virtual solutions that expand access to those who need it most.

Since our launch, Frontier Psychiatry has grown rapidly while maintaining a deep commitment to our founding purpose — lifting the mental wellbeing of underserved populations. Our work is guided by healthcare’s Quintuple Aim, which drives every decision we make:

  • Deliver excellent patient care.
  • Support the well-being of our team.
  • Lower the total cost of care.
  • Improve the population health of the communities we serve.
  • Advance health equity.

If you’re passionate about meaningful work, innovation in behavioral health, and making a lasting difference in people’s lives, we’d love for you to join our team.

Why This Role Exists

Frontier Psychiatry is dedicated to expanding access to high-quality mental health care across underserved communities.

Our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners are the clinical backbone of that mission—delivering compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care to patients who may not otherwise have access.

This role exists to provide high-quality evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment while ensuring patients receive timely, personalized, and effective care across a wide range of mental health conditions.

What You’ll Do

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, primary care providers, and family members as appropriate
  • Participate in interdisciplinary discussions to support comprehensive treatment planning
  • Maintain a professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach in all interactions
  • Attend weekly Provider Rounds and monthly All-Staff meetings
  • Stay engaged with clinical and administrative communications across organizational platforms

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records for all patient encounters
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Follow best practices for documentation, prescribing, and patient care standards

Professional Development

  • Stay current with advancements in psychiatric treatment, medications, and clinical best practices
  • Participate in ongoing education, training, and professional development opportunities
  • Continuously refine clinical skills to provide the highest level of care

What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means:

  • Delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to your patient panel
  • Maintaining strong patient engagement and positive outcomes
  • Collaborating effectively with the care team and contributing to a supportive clinical culture
  • Ensuring accurate documentation and full compliance with clinical standards
  • Demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and clinical excellence in every interaction

Education, Experience & Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Montana, Alaska and Idaho.
  • Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • Experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
