Osteal Therapeutics is a Dallas-based, privately held biotechnology company redefining the standard of care for life-altering orthopedic infections.
Osteal is hiring to launch NEXCHANGE™ KIT, a first-of-its-kind FDA Breakthrough Therapy for periprosthetic joint infection (PJI), a critical condition impacting 50,000 Americans annually. PJI currently lacks FDA-approved therapies and forces patients through grueling, months-long treatments with poor outcomes. Our disruptive technology transforms this journey by safely delivering high-concentration, broad-spectrum antibiotics directly to the infection site; reducing the treatment timeline from months to just seven days.
Powered by $137M in funding to date and a distinguished investor base that includes strategic partners Johnson & Johnson and Zimmer Biomet, we are advancing toward FDA approval and building the organization that will bring this therapy to patients in dire need.
We are looking for bold, relentless professionals who thrive in a “builder” environment. If you are driven by the opportunity to do work that genuinely matters — to be part of a cohesive and capable team striving to deliver the first on-label PJI treatment that promises to transform outcomes for tens of thousands of patients.
About The Role
The Senior Professional Education Manager is a critical role dedicated to the clinical and commercial excellence of the Osteal field team. This role bridges the gap between product innovation and real-world application by ensuring our field representatives are not just product experts, but elite educators.
The primary focus is the strategic planning, development, and delivery of high-impact training that empowers our field team to educate hospital stakeholders and provide world-class clinical support during cases. You will be responsible for creating the “train-the-trainer” framework that defines how Osteal interacts with surgeons, nursing staff, and hospital administration.
Responsibilities
Strategic Training Architecture
- Define the long-term educational roadmap for the Osteal field organization, from initial onboarding to advanced mastery.
- Conduct ongoing gap analyses to ensure training programs address the evolving needs of hospital environments and procedural workflows.
- Develop clear learning objectives and KPIs to measure the impact of training on field performance and case success rates.
Curriculum & Content Design
- Lead the creation of comprehensive training modules focused on disease state knowledge, procedural steps, and technical troubleshooting.
- Develop specialized “Stakeholder Education” playbooks that teach the field team how to navigate and educate diverse hospital audiences (e.g., Surgeons, OR Managers, Sterile Processing, and C-Suite).
- Design high-fidelity case support simulations that prepare field members for the high-pressure environment of live surgical procedures.
- Ensure all educational materials are clinically rigorous, legally compliant, and aligned with brand positioning.
Elite Facilitation & Delivery
- Direct and facilitate live and virtual training intensives at events, including national sales meetings, regional workshops, and specialized clinical labs.
- Implement “Train-the-Trainer” certifications to ensure every field member can effectively translate Osteal’s value proposition to clinical staff.
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback to field personnel on their presentation skills, clinical acumen, and in-case etiquette.
Clinical Case Advocacy & Support
- Equip the field team with the skills necessary to maximize positive customer and patient experience through proactive case preparation and intra-operative support.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for field-led hospital staff training (e.g., in-services and training labs).
- Foster a culture of “Clinical Excellence” where the field team is viewed by the hospital as a value-added partner rather than just a vendor.
