General Description:
This position will help to shape the next generation of nursing professionals by providing high-quality clinical instruction, mentorship, and support to students in both laboratory and clinical settings. Incumbent must possess a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to nursing education.
Job Description:
Essential Job Functions:
- Facilitates and oversees clinical education for practical nursing students in various healthcare settings
- Provides direct supervision and mentorship to students during clinical rotations, ensuring adherence to safety and ethical standards in Evidence Care Practice in patient care
- Assesses student progress, provides constructive feedback, and documents performance evaluations
- Collaborates with faculty and staff to ensure alignment between theoretical knowledge and practical application
- Stays updated on current nursing practices and educational methodologies to enhance instructional effectiveness
- Engages in professional development and nursing education activities, as appropriate
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Contact with all levels of CCPS personnel, students, parents

Physical Demands:
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to use a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear, understand speech and speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly at normal levels indoors and on the telephone. Physical agility to lift up to 25 lbs. bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead.
Work Environment:
The employee regularly works in a school or office setting. The noise level is quiet to moderate.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of nursing standards, regulations, and best practices in clinical education. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including students, faculty, and healthcare professionals. Passion for teaching and mentoring future nursing professionals.
Additional Job Requirements:
Current and unrestricted RN license in Virginia; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in relevant areas, such as medical-surgical, pediatrics, geriatrics, mental health, maternity, or community health
Preferred: Previous experience in nursing education, including clinical instruction or nursing mentorship; Master’s degree in Nursing or Education

Compensation
$37.84 per hour
