What does the advertised salary range mean?
Employers often publish a low-to-high salary range. The lower figure shown on a salary page is the median of advertised lower endpoints, and the upper figure is the median of advertised upper endpoints.
How are hourly salaries compared with annual salaries?
Hourly pay is annualized at 2,080 hours per year. Weekly pay is annualized at 52 weeks, monthly pay at 12 months and daily pay at 260 days.
Does the salary data include bonuses and benefits?
Not reliably. The figures summarize advertised base-pay ranges as captured in job listings. Bonuses, benefits, equity, differentials and other forms of total compensation may not be included.
Why do some salary pages have larger samples than the current job count?
Salary pages use listings from the most recent 12 months, while current job counts use the site’s more recent active-job window. A recently closed listing may remain useful for salary analysis after it is no longer a current opening.
